Page Index & Disposition Plan Melton Norcross & Associates 21 August 2026

Forty-four URLsin search of a structure.

The target sitemap for the redesign, with every existing page assigned an action — keep, modify, create, or retire — plus the redirect map and a two-phase build order.

Roughly a 65% increase in indexable pages, but almost none of it is new writing from scratch. The bulk is unbundling — the current /services/ page already contains six services’ worth of copy, and the homepage already lists forty-plus oilfield categories as plain text. That material becomes pages.

Two structural decisions worth agreeing before build starts, both flagged in context below: the blog posts stay at their existing root URLs, and the oil & gas page keeps its current slug.

Decision 1 — the flagship slug

/oil-gas-debt-collection-agency/ is already a keyword-strong URL and the second-most-important page on the site. Moving it into /industries/ would be tidier and is not worth the risk. Keep the slug, put it in the /industries/ nav group, and let one URL be inconsistent. Confirm against Search Console impressions before locking this.

Decision 2 — leave the blog where it is

Twenty-eight posts, some five years old, all at the root. Re-homing them under /resources/blog/ means 28 redirects for zero ranking gain. Build the /resources/ hub, link down into the posts, and publish new posts at root alongside them. Consistency loses to preserved equity.

Existing pages

Disposition of all 16 live pages

Current URLActionWhat happens
/ModifyFull rebuild. Kill “Debt Collections Professional Commercial.” One headline, one supporting line naming oil & gas, one CTA. Move the 25% contingency claim above the fold. Rewrite the meta description as a sentence.
/about-us/ModifyTighten. Spin the team, compliance and associations content into three child pages.
/services/ModifyBecomes a hub. Its existing body copy is the source material for six of the new child pages. Retitle to a keyword-led tag.
/oil-gas-debt-collection-agency/ModifySlug stays. Rewrite title tag and meta description, restructure headings, add internal links down to the new industry pages.
/fees/KeepStrongest differentiator on the site. Design refresh, keep the published rates, add a comparison framing.
/faqs/ModifyExpand with oil & gas specific questions. Add FAQPage schema.
/contact-us/ModifyServer-render the form so it exists without JavaScript. Add business hours. Keep both office maps.
/get-started/ModifyRename to /place-account/ and rebuild as the qualifying intake form: balance owed, account count, industry, age of debt, B2B confirmation. 301 the old URL.
/reviews/ModifyReplace anonymised quotes with named clients and logos. Add Review schema.
/leave-review/Retire301 to /leave-a-review/.
/leave-review-2026/Retire301 to /leave-a-review/. Never put a year in a slug you intend to keep.
/monthly-collection-alert/ModifyRe-home to /resources/collection-alert/ with a 301.
/news/ModifyBecomes /resources/. 301 the old URL. Add filtering by service and industry.
/dallas-commercial-debt-collection-agency/Modify301 to /locations/dallas-tx/ and rewrite. It has not been touched since September 2022 and names the wrong city relative to the office.
/privacy-policy/KeepUpdate dates and controller details.
/colors/RetireLeftover style-guide page in the public sitemap. Return 410 or noindex and remove.
Existing posts

Disposition of all 28 blog URLs

Eighteen stay untouched and simply get linked upward into the new service and industry pages. Six get rewritten or repositioned. Four disappear.

Build order

Two phases, not one

PhaseScopeNew pagesWhy here
Phase 1 — Launch Home, services silo (8), industries hub + 5 verticals, locations hub + 5, about + 3 children, results, resources hub, conversion pages, legal, all redirects 28 Everything here either fixes something actively costing leads or unbundles copy that already exists. No new research required.
Phase 2 — 60–90 days Remaining 3 location markets, construction and manufacturing verticals, AR management, pay online, client portal, gated lien-deadline asset 10 Depends on decisions Melton has to make — payment processor, portal software, and whether they can honestly claim coverage in markets without an office.
One caution on location pages

Frisco and Lafayette are real offices and can carry full local pages with a Google Business Profile behind each. Houston, Midland–Odessa and the Phase 2 cities are market pages — they need genuinely distinct content about that basin’s operators, payment norms and lien deadlines, not the same page with the city name swapped. Near-duplicate city pages are the fastest way to get the whole directory discounted, and Ryan & Jacobs is already flirting with that problem through their overlapping New York URLs.
