Local SEO & Reviews
When a business hears about Melton Norcross, whether from a mailer, a referral or a search, one of the first things it sees is your Google listing and your reviews. For many prospects, that listing is the first impression, before they ever reach the website. This section makes sure both offices show up complete, consistent and well reviewed everywhere a business might look.
At a glance
- Both Google Business Profiles are already managed by Blue Carrot Creative and are optimized first, in week one.
- One name, address, phone and set of hours everywhere: Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp, BBB and the major directories.
- A steady review program that asks every client at the moment they get paid.
- Every review answered within two business days.
- Location pages on the new website connect each Google profile to its own office page.
1. Where Things Stand
| Work | Status |
|---|---|
| Google Business Profiles for Frisco and Lafayette: verified and managed | Complete |
| Audit of your listings across the web (phone numbers, hours, categories) | Complete: inconsistencies found and documented |
| New profile covers and branded post graphics | Complete (see Social Media) |
| Full profile optimization plan for both offices, with draft descriptions | Complete (see Social Media, Strategy tab) |
| Location pages and business markup on the new website | Built into the new site |
| Listing corrections across the directories | Next: starts once the official phone and hours are confirmed |
| Review request in remittance emails and letters | Next: week 2 after approval |
2. Why Local Matters for a B2B Firm
Even though your clients are businesses, Google treats a search like “collection agency near me” or “commercial collection agency Dallas” as a local search. The results show a map with three businesses, and the ones that appear are chosen by three things:
| Factor | What it means | How we improve it |
|---|---|---|
| Relevance | Does the profile clearly match the search? | Correct categories, a full services list and keyword-rich descriptions, with no consumer debt categories |
| Prominence | Is the business well known and well reviewed? | A steady flow of new reviews, consistent listings, press coverage and links to the location pages |
| Consistency | Do the details match everywhere? | One phone number and one set of hours on every listing, matched exactly to the website |
3. Google Business Profile Optimization
- Categories: “Collection agency” as primary, plus only categories that genuinely apply.
- Services and products: each core service listed with a description, and shown as image cards on the profile.
- Descriptions: new, Louisiana-focused for Lafayette and headquarters-focused for Frisco.
- Photos: logo, new cover, office exterior with signage, interior and team, refreshed monthly.
- Weekly posts on each profile, following the content calendar.
- Links: each profile links to its own location page, tagged so visits from Google are tracked.
The full profile-by-profile plan, with draft descriptions, is in the Strategy tab of the Social Media section.
4. Listing Consistency Across the Web
Today, your listings show three different phone numbers and several sets of hours, and Yelp lists Melton Norcross under “Debt Relief Services,” a consumer category. Inconsistent details make Google less confident about which information is correct.
| Step | What we do |
|---|---|
| 1. Correct | Update the listings that matter most: Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp, BBB, Yellow Pages and the major data providers that feed them. |
| 2. Build | Add Melton Norcross to quality business and industry directories where you’re missing. |
| 3. Remove duplicates | Merge or close duplicate listings that split your reviews. |
| 4. Maintain | Check quarterly so outside sources don’t overwrite your correct details. |
5. The Review Program
| Step | How it works |
|---|---|
| Ask at the moment of success | Each remittance email and letter includes the office’s short review link and a QR code. |
| Follow up automatically | An email a few days after remittance repeats the request. |
| Ask every client | Google prohibits incentives and prohibits asking only happy clients, so every client is asked. |
| Answer every review | A professional reply within two business days, never confirming account details. |
| Handle debtor reviews | Answered calmly with an offline contact; reviews that break the platform’s rules are reported for removal. |
Starting target: 2โ4 new reviews per month across both offices.
6. What Happens After Approval
| Week | What we do |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Optimize both Google profiles; create the review links and QR codes. |
| Week 2 | Correct directory listings; claim and re-categorize Yelp; add the review request to remittance emails and letters. |
| Week 3 | Upload new office and team photos; build new directory listings. |
| Week 4 | First monthly report: calls, website clicks and direction requests from Google, new reviews and average rating. |
7. What We Need From You
- Official phone number and hours for each office. This unlocks the listing corrections.
- Permission to claim Yelp and move it out of “Debt Relief Services.”
- Who sends remittances in each office, so the review request can be added.
- Photos of both offices and your team.
These items are also tracked in the Further Information or Clarification Needed tab of the Campaign Overview.
